Lower School

(Grades K–5)

Building strong foundations for lifelong learning

The Lower School experience at New Heights Preparatory Academy is designed to establish a strong academic foundation while nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

Our elementary students receive intentional instruction through the McGraw Hill curriculum aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards, ensuring academic rigor and state-aligned learning outcomes.

Core subjects include:

  • Reading and Language Arts

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • Social Studies

We prioritize:

  • Foundational reading fluency

  • Strong mathematical reasoning

  • Critical thinking development

  • Structured classroom routines

In addition, we utilize the i-Ready program to provide diagnostic assessments and differentiated instruction in reading and math. This allows teachers to identify learning gaps early and personalize instruction to support measurable student growth.

Through small-group instruction and targeted intervention, teachers meet students where they are and guide them toward consistent academic growth.

A Structured and Supportive Learning Environment

Elementary students thrive in environments where expectations are clear and routines are consistent.

At New Heights Prep, we maintain:

  • Small class sizes

  • Clear academic expectations

  • Consistent daily routines

  • Positive behavior standards

  • Active teacher engagement

Our structured environment helps students develop focus, responsibility, and confidence from an early age.

Families seeking a disciplined yet supportive elementary experience in Ocoee, Apopka, and Winter Garden appreciate our commitment to both accountability and encouragement.

Character & Faith-Based Education

New Heights Prep is a faith-based school that incorporates Christian values into daily instruction and school culture.

We intentionally develop:

  • Respect

  • Integrity

  • Accountability

  • Leadership

  • Perseverance

Character education is integrated into classroom discussions, behavioral expectations, and school-wide initiatives.

We welcome families from diverse backgrounds who value strong morals, structure, and academic excellence.

Academic Support & Individualized Growth

We understand that each child learns differently.

Students who need additional support benefit from:

  • Small-group instruction

  • Targeted skill reinforcement

  • i-Ready personalized learning pathways

  • Ongoing progress monitoring

Students who excel academically are also challenged through structured advancement and higher-level skill development.

Our goal is growth for every student — not simply grade-level progression. We believe mastery builds confidence, and confidence builds success.
